General description of the collection: The John V. Hertzler photograph collection is one large oversize album entitled "Third US Army / ETO". In it are captioned Signal Corps type photos of Third Army troops pictured across Europe in 1944-1945. Unfortunately, all these photos are ink printed images, not real photographs. The majority of the photos in the album are uncaptioned small photos taken after the war in 1945, of sites visited in Germany by Lieutenant Colonel Hertzler.
